What is the number of guests the building can hold?

The Bluestem Venue can seat 250. This includes guests and bridal party.

Are we able to schedule a tour?

All tours must be scheduled in advance as we often have guests and events happening. You can schedule your appointment here. Please make sure that when you select the date to tour that it works for all parties needed to make a decision in the booking process as we only do one scheduled tour for perspective couples. You may attend as many open houses as you like for additional viewing

Are we able to come back to the property to do planning?

Yes, once you have booked you will be able to come to our open houses where you can bring your friends, family, caterer etc. for planning. We simply ask that you RSVP so we know who to expect.

You may also bring your photographer and utilize our property for your engagement pictures free of charge once you have booked your wedding.

What options do we have for catering?

You may choose a licensed and insured caterer. We do not charge a fee of any sort to you or your caterer for outside catering. If we have worked with your caterer in the past and they are not allowed back we will let you know. We do not receive any kick backs from the vendors as to whether or not we will work with them. We expect our vendors to be timely, professional, provide excellent service, and respect our venue. If we (or our past couples) have had a poor experience with a caterer we want to help you not have the same sort of experience.

Do we have to utilize your bar service?

Yes, no outside beverages (alcohol or non-alcohol) are allowed on the day of the event. We provide a fully stocked bar and our bartenders are there as professionals to help make sure your day is a success. NO GLASS CONTAINERS ARE ALLOWED ANYWHERE OUTSIDE.

Do you have a full liquor license?

Yes. We have a full liquor license so we can sell all of your favorite name brand hard alcohol as well as beer and wine. We are able to do signature drinks, kegs, champagne walls/towers, and just about any other creative bar service you can think of.

Do you offer set up and tear down services?

Yes. We can provide basic set up and tear down services. We also offer floral services.

Do we have to hire a day of coordinator?

No. We do not make you hire a day of coordinator. We have staff available on site to greet your vendors at the venue starting at 1pm on day of event for full weekend weddings. (Staff is available to the bride and groom for questions anytime on day of)

If you do wish to hire a day of coordinator you are more than welcome to hire a DOC of your choice. Prairie Shores does offer DOC services as an alternative.

May we bring our own desserts?

Yes. We let you bring your own cake, bars, donuts…whatever is your style without an additional charge.

Do you charge for a candy or popcorn bar?

No. You may have a popcorn, candy, trail mix, appetizer table without additional charge.

Do you have dinnerware available?

We do have dinnerware available for rent. Our place setting options and drinkware options come with bussing/water services in the price. We can create a package to fit what you are looking for.
